What is Harder Cycling about? What is our purpose? Harder Cycling was originally formed in 2008 by a group of cyclists associated with Harder Mechanical that have similar fitness and personal goals. We are a social organization of cycling aficionados that appreciate cyclists of all abilities and fitness levels. Since inception, we have grown in membership size and have increased the number of organized events which we participate in across the western states of WA, OR, and CA. The rides include mainly endurance cycling events such as centuries and double centuries but we also participate in other multi-sport activities such as cyclocross, triathlons, and duathlons. We are a member of OBRA.
Harder Cycling is about doing the best with your abilities, enjoying the camaraderie of your teammates, supporting the rest of the team in their fitness and cycling goals and conducting oneself in a way that promotes our sponsors and team. Our membership is low key and we promote enjoyable and safe cycling while challenging and supporting each other in personal fitness. Each member is encouraged to “give back” to the community each year by volunteering at cycling and other events. We have monthly meetings to discuss club business, upcoming events and to formally welcome new members.
